Port Aransas and Mustang Island have been called the "Nest of Texas". And for good reason, this area has one of the highest bird counts on the Texas Gulf Coast. Port Aransas, Aransas Pass and Ingleside include a number of sites that are on the Aransas Loop and the Mustang Island Loop of the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail.
