The first Hu-Dat Restaurant was opened by Ho and Tam Nguyen in Fulton, Texas. The name was chosen from the names of two of their sons, Hung and Dat. After the success of the Fulton location, the Nguyen family opened the second Hu-Dat Restaurant, D. Noodle House, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
