Corpus Christi, Texas

"The Sparkling City by the Sea"

Known to the locals as simply 'Corpus', this city of about 280,000 located on Corpus Christi Bay is well known for its beautiful downtown bayfront and miles of Gulf beaches. Corpus Christi is the second most popular tourist destination in Texas.

The downtown area is marked by several important features. The seawall, which is a great place for a stroll to take in the view along the bayfront. The Marina, with its "T" heads, which are home to hundreds of sailboats, yachts and other pleasure craft. The Harbor Bridge, which allows large ships entrance into the Port of Corpus Christi and just north of the Harbor Bridge is the Texas State Aquarium and the USS Lexington, a retired aircraft carrier that is now a museum.

On the east side of Corpus Christi Bay, lie Mustang and Padre Islands, which offer access to almost 90 miles of beautiful Gulf of Mexico beach.

One of the best ways to experience
the Corpus Christi area is to take the
Scenic Drive around Corpus Christi Bay.
