South Texas Beaches

From Sargent to the Mouth of the Rio Grande
lie over 250 miles of some of the most
beautiful beaches on the Gulf Coast.

These beaches fall into two categories,
the wild Gulf beaches that sometimes have
large, rough surf and strong currents.
These beaches are the most popular
along the coast and are favored by
surfers, fishermen and beachcombers.

But there are also a number of small bayfront
beaches such as the Rockport Beach Park.
These beaches are characterized by
small gentle waves and little or no current.
These types of beaches are usually preferred
by families with small children.
