Description: The Hammerhead is the most easily distinguished of all sharks because of it's unique head. There are 9 different species of Hammerheads. They prefer to live in warm water along coastlines. They can be found in tropic and sub tropic waters all over the world. The head is wide and very thick. It looks like a hammer at both ends and their eyes are set out on these ends. The body is a light gray on the top with white underneath but may have a greenish tint. They have a dorsal fin that is very tall and it has a point at the top of it. Hammerheads can grow to be very large & weigh over 1000 lbs.
